This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you contact us, ask for a quote, or use this website. Empire Roofcare & Building Ltd decides how and why that information is used, which makes us the "controller" under UK data protection law.

What we collect
When you fill in our quote form, ring us or email us, we collect:
- your name
- your phone number and email address
- your postcode, and your full address if the work goes ahead
- what you have told us about the work you need
- photographs of the roof taken during a survey or the works, where relevant
The website also collects some technical information automatically. That is covered in our Cookie Policy.
Why we use it

We never publish a photograph that identifies your address, and we will take one down if you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. We share it only where the job or the business requires:
- scaffolding firms, skip hire and materials suppliers, where a job needs them
- our accountant, and HMRC
- our insurers, if a claim is made
- our website host and email provider, who store data on our behalf
- Google, where you have consented to advertising or analytics cookies
Some providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer relies on the UK's approved safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become jobs — up to 12 months, then deleted
- Completed jobs — 6 years, to cover accounting and our workmanship guarantee
- Invoices and accounts — 6 years, as HMRC requires
- Website analytics — as set out in the Cookie Policy
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong, delete it where we no longer need it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first. Email us at the address above, and we will look into it and reply to you in writing.
If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. You can go to the ICO without contacting us first.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will update the date at the top of this page.
